THE COLD NEVER BOTHERED ME ANYWAY

WRITTEN 11/9/2015

Hey everyone!

So, I want to apologize to the people who did write me last week, that I did not respond to. We didn't really plan how things would go throughout the day, and I didn't set aside the time to write everyone I should have. I'm sorry, and I'll be doing better! So this is a longer email!

Here's a TL;DR

"I went to a museum, taught a lesson in half Spanish, and learned I was a prideful jerk. Also, I only get to email once a week, you can take five minutes to read the email, guys."

Last Monday, actually, we went to the new Church History museum! It was really cool, and they have a bunch of neat artifacts from early church history. And also stuff  from the presidents of the church!

They have I think a replica of the podium that's in the conference center, and you're able to stand behind it and take pictures. It's cool! They also have some cool stuff from Howard W. Hunter (Who I was named after! So I'm glad he had a great last name) and just new facts I didn't know. Museums are cool!

Two other great things happened this week. First was in a lesson we taught.

So, we come to teach a woman named Andrea. She's been to church before, and her sister would totally be baptized, but she's concerned what her husband and inlaws would think. So, Andrea was curious about what we believed in and she accepted us to come over! So we have two members in the Ward who are their friends, and they come with us to the lesson. One other thing we find out, is her parents (the Espinoza's) want to learn too! Because they also came to church.
Except they speak Spanish. Very little English, but enough. So, the member (Sis. Brown, she grew up in Columbia) we have with us translated. We teach, ask and answer questions, and she'd translate.

It was a fantastic lesson! The Espinoza's have really strong testimonies and beliefs in God and Jesus Christ already, and Mr. Espinoza said that as he read the Book of Mormon "It feels just like when I read the Bible. There are the things I read with my mind, but it also tells things to my heart." And me and Elder Woolf were shocked! They were just so open and ready to accept the restored gospel. They committed to a baptism date on December 5th if they prayed and got an answer that the Book of Mormon was true!

I never wished I was on Spanish assignment more than I did that day.
I've picked up bits and pieces of Spanish through my life either in my house (Thanks, Dad!) or through classes (Thanks, Sis. Cottrell!) but I've picked up so much also on my mission! It helps sometimes being on exchanges in Spanish areas, (I had to pray in Spanish on Wednesday, actually! I was super nervous, and it was choppy. But it was so cool!) or just being with the Spanish missionaries and asking them what things mean.
I'm actually at the point where I can't really translate word for word, but I can get a general idea of what someone is talking about.
Maybe President will switch me, haha. The only sad thing is that they will most likely go the Spanish branch (for obvious reasons) and so it'll be another set of Elders who teach them.

So that was just a great pickup just by finding someone who was so open to learn more. It was a nice change.

The second great thing happened actually this Saturday and Sunday.

So yesterday, we get a call. In one of the wards, the people who were asked to give a talk Sunday can't do it anymore. So we were asked to do it. Alright, I've literally walked into a sacrament meeting ten mins before it started and we got asked to give a talk in the same situation. So this isn't new! What is new is the subject. We got asked to share a message on a talk given by Ezra Taft Benson (one of the Presidents of the Church) titled  BEWARE OF PRIDE

It was really interesting, because I will be honest: being proud is something I've struggled with a lot on my mission. Especially early on. (Just ask Elder Allapitan, he will back me up on that!) that pride was being close minded to new ideas.
Then, in the middle of my first year, it was pride in the form of 'I don't need to follow all the rules, we are still having success'. That was a hard lesson to learn when it got corrected.
THEN, as if I hadn't been paying attention the first two times, it happened AGAIN, the very next transfer! This time I wasn't being considerate of some habits that bothered my companion, and also feigning ignorance that some of my conversations could border the line of too casual or flirty, because I didn't think it was really that bad. I had an attitude of 'Well I don't like everything he does, so he'll deal with it, like I am'. Which was really inconsiderate, and I was a total jerk!

And it would always keep popping up, and could cause big problems. And I didn't realize that his entire time it was because I had the same exact problem, but just with a different symptom. Pride. That gigantic stumbling block.

I thought of all the times I had been through, and how much greater they could have been if I just humbled myself, and learned to take correction in a Christlike way! If we look at His entire life, it's nothing but humility in doing what God wanted Him to do. Never what He wanted. How can I wear His name on my badge every day, and still be a stubborn bump in the road of progress? I finally realized that I knew the cause of all the arguments I've ever had;

Pride.

So, this was one of those times where the talk wasn't really meant for the listener, but to the one speaking.

Everyone, I invite you to look at yourself today. Think of some way that you might be having that burden of pride weighing you down. Maybe it's caring more about what people think, or wanting more than someone else, thinking you can't learn from someone beneath or above your position, or holding on to someone who offended you as a justification for having bitter feelings towards someone or something. There's always something to improve on, and unless we humble ourselves and ask the Lord for help; we won't be able to truly fix it.

Ether 12:27

"27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them"

And I can testify that at principle is true.

Alright, that was a long email.

I love you all! And you're always in my prayers. Hope to hear from you soon!

Love,

ROCKIN' THE SUBURBS

WRITTEN 11/2/2015

Just like Michael Jackson did! I'm rockin the suburbs!

...except he was talented.

Hey everyone!

Well, it's been another week. But the big thing about last week was Halloween! Spooky. 2spooky.

So spooky, in fact, that missionaries aren't even allowed to go outside during this time! Because everyone thinks we are just idiots in costumes trying to get free candy, and also everyone wot have time to talk with us! So, what is a missionary supposed to do? Sit around in their apartment all night? That is an option. Or, what you can do is watch a little movie called...

REMEMBER THE TITANS.

That's right, we got permission for two zones to get together on Halloween and watch Remember the Titans! It was awesome, because we usually don't get to watch movies as missionaries. And the parts of overcoming racial differences actually really applies to the state of the Salt Lake City West mission right now: We all come from different mission backgrounds (Salt Lake, West, Central, South) and we are used to different ways to do things. We also are basically still in cliques, but as we realize that we are all  on the same team with the same objective, we will become an awesome team.

And that was probably the highlight of the week.

And also: there was this crazy light show Halloween setup that was absolutely fantastic. It's in the attached video.

There hasn't been a whole bunch going on right now, which is surprising because we cover 14 wards, so things should be crazy busy.
But we're starting to pick things up. It'll take a lot of work and a lot of prayers, but we will get things kicking.

In other news, for the first time in three years I threw up. Pretty sure it was food related, because after dinner last night I can't keep anything down except water. So that's been fun.

One thing about our area is that it's super rich suburbs, but in between neighborhoods there is a bunch of undeveloped fields. Makes really good photo ops.

Attached are some pics of those fields, and the time me and elder Woolf found a printer just in the middle of a parking lot, and also the sunrise yesterday that my Mom would be proud of!

Well, thats all I really have to write about today. Keep me updated on how things are going for all of you, too!

Love each one of you all!

ONE MORE BAD DRIVER IN UTAH

WRITTEN 10/26/15

Hey everyone!

Well, transfers have come and gone and I'm now in the West Jordan Sycamores and Sunset Ridge stakes! Which is a grand total of fourteen wards (congregations). It's a huge (and beautiful) area!

But to make things easier, we are now driving a car! It's been great, but also a little terrifying. Because drivers here in Utah are so bad.
Sooo so bad. But it just gives me a reason to pray more haha!

So, last night was one of our musical firesides we have been doing as a missionary choir. It was fantastic! We have this really big part at the end of the program, where we have a solo about Joseph Smith and the Restoration that then leads into a solo of 'Come, Lord Jesus' and then the choir kicks in and sings 'Jesus Once of Humble Birth' and it's all beautiful. The choir director does a great job getting all to work!

In other news, I am down to 258 pounds! We have a gym in our apartment complex and starting to getting all fit and stuff. Boo yah.💪

Another fantastic event is the purchase of a little board game called Munchkins.

Munchkins is a game that's basically a stripped-down and simplified version of Dungeons and Dragons. With more an emphasis on the fighting of monsters (and your friends) and taking loot from monsters (and also your friends).

It's a lot of fun, and now our entire district is into this game.

Goes to show that when you have something good and you share it, you only get better! Which is an excellent principle for life, and especially the gospel. So that's your spiritual that for the week!

But the most super duper fantastic thing of all things that ever will happen is my sister Shayli goes to the MTC this Wednesday! I know I've already said it, but she's going to be awesome, and you all better write her more than you do me, ha ha.

Well, that's the things that have happened! It is alway great to hear from you guys, and I hope is good to hear from me too!

I love you guys!

FUTURE'S SO BRIGHT

WRITTEN 10/19/2015

Hey everyone!

Well, last Friday night we got transfer calls. I am now covering the West Jordan Sunset Ridge and Sycamores stakes! My companion is Elder Woolf, and I know nothing about him!

It's been a really great two transfers here in the Hunter East Stake, we have had three baptisms in the last two months! And this week we hit exactly 30 lessons! That's the highest amount I've ever had! It's actually the highest in our entire zone! Woop woop.

It's been really hard saying goodbye, because there's so many awesome people I've been able to work with!

But, I will look good doing it! Haha

So, if anyone is sending things should send them to :

3150 Whitehall Drive
Taylorsville, UT 84150

That's the mission office,

And they will make sure things get to me.

We carved pumpkins today as a District, and I'll make sure the pics get sent out later!

I hope to hear from all of you soon!

Pretend this Post is Good. . .

WRITTEN 10/5/15. . .

Okay! So first, I'm writing this in a car so if is gets sent after
6:00 everyone know I wrote it before that time so it was still P-Day and I have no wifi!

not a lot happened this week

EXCEPT GENERAL CONFERENCE!

So, for those of you who do not know, General Conference is where the President of the Church (kind of like the Pope) and the other people in leadership give us guidance and counsel on what we can do in our lives to become better followers of Jesus Christ, and also just better people. That's the bare-bones explanation.

It was really cool, and there are a lot of great advice they gave that help out a lot! Whether or not you are a part of the church. You can find it in either www.mormon.org or www.lds.org !

But that's really it for now honestly. I promise next time I will either do something awesome or make something up that is entertaining to read!

Keep on being great people, everyone. You all mean a lot to me, and I love hearing from you guys.

Love you all!

ONE YEAR DOWN!

WRITTEN 10/12/15
Hey everyone!

Oh, first. You all should send pictures. It's the best thing because
it's easier to remember what everyone looks like haha!

Wow, I can't believe it's already been a whole year since I started my
mission! Okay, technically it's still three more days. But still!

Things have changed a lot! Companions, My mission president, the
geographical area I can serve in, even the name of my mission! But
more importantly, I've changed:

I'm not as afraid of taking risks, I actually have a work ethic now, I
care less about what everyone else thinks about me, because I know the
only ones I need to worry about are me and God. I've lost weight, and
I'm down to 259 pounds! I'm also a lot more patient with myself and
others.
But the biggest change I've noticed, is that I've actually grown up.
I am a lot more mature than I used to be, and I think it's probably
the change I'm happiest with. But the losing weight is a close second.

Unfortunately, I still have bought more ties. Remember that picture I
had last time?

Ain't got nothing on this. Does anybody need one?

Another awesome thing, we had a baptism last Saturday! His name is Kayden!

(APOLOGIES FOR SIDEWAYS PICS, BUT HEY, WINDOWS SUCKS)

We have another one next week, and then a week after that! It's going great!

Love you all, please feel free to email me back!

AND THEN DISASTER HAPPENED

Hey everybody!

This week has been ABSOLUTELY...!

Slow. Not much has actually happened that would make a super exciting letter for you all to read. But remember how I said I had a weight loss goal? Well I have successfully already lost three pounds! 💪😎

AND THEN A DISASTER HAPPENED.

A Less active Polynesian family we are working with had their 8 year old girl baptized. And they brought food. How much food?

This much food.

This was the leftovers they gave me and Elder Moore.  At least 20 egg salad sandwiches, these delicious dense fried dough balls, a banana cream pie with cookies and this large pizza. What do you do with this much food? Go to the District Leaders apartment and drop most of it there!

So I'm still doing good on my diet and workout. Teaching is going well, and we have a busy night ahead of us!

So what is something exciting that happened to you? Let me know! (This is also a test to see who actually reads these haha)

I love all you guys, and thank you so much for your emails! Big or small, it's nice to hear from people you care about!

Love,

Elder Hunter Coleman

Hey, Elders!

Transfer calls have come and gone, and me and Elder Moore are staying in the same area together. So my address is still

4886 Choctaw Ave
Salt Lake City, UT 84120

But in these few weeks a lot of stuff happened! One of our investigators, Jake, got baptized!

Here's why Jake wanted to get baptized. Half his family is Baptist, and he would go to services at their church, and also a few others. But as he was driving to his grandparents house here in West Valley, he thought 'there has to be more, it just feels like something is missing' and he decided to try going with his grandparents to our ward. He ended up having a family member who taught Primary (the little kids classes) and he sat in just to listen. As he sat there, the kids were singing 'I Am a Child of God' and as he was just listening, he said something just whispered inside that "these kids are so young, but they know who they are. That's what I'm missing!" And then he started meeting with us to learn more!

On your mission, you will experience many trials and struggles with temptation. I will share with you one of these challenges I recently had. I've committed to making sure I become a better and more responsible person while I'm out here. Being more serious about my commitments and promises I make, as well as being the best possible person I can become as I serve the Lord. Immediately as I made some of these commitments I faced a challenge.

We leave the doorstep of a house, and we start walking down the street. A woman calls out to us, "Hey, Elders!"
She called us Elders and not just 'missionaries', which means she's a member. Maybe someone who's Less Active we could teach, or giving us a referral for someone who wants to be taught? I start getting excited, because I know I can help with whatever the situation is. We turn around, and recognize her as someone from the ward. She's retired, and she's usually a wonderful person!

But is time something is wrong. She's walking toward us with a purpose, and she has something behind her back.
"I've got something for you!" She says with a sneaky smile.

A flash of orange and yellow screams out from behind her, coming right toward us at breakneck speeds.

She thrusts a large box of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups into our hands.

"Here you go! Have a good day!" She walks off, unaware of the potential cataclysm she has unleashed on my poor, barely begun diet. I stare at the box, thinking of my life before where I would tear through this delicious candy abomination with zero regret. Is this really how I want to start my healthier life?

No! I will be strong, and make my companion eat them instead!

And that's how I turned down some candy a nice lady gave us.

So I've set a goal for myself to drop 70 pounds! As part of this, I'm officially requesting that if anyone wants to send a care package, please do not send candy! Yes, it is delicious and I love it, but I'm trying to make sure I don't fit in any of my clothes I brought with me on my mission!

Here is a scripture i read in my studies that I really like. This is from 1 Corinthians 2:9

"9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

So, think of how beautiful the Earth is!

And the blessings God has prepared for us are so much better that we cannot even comprehend it!
All we have to do is love Him. But how do we do that? John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments"

So, all the amazing things God has for us are completely dependent on whether or not we choose to return the love God has for us!

Love you!

10 Months

Hey Everybody!

Well, at some point this month I'm going to hit my 10 month mark!
Its gone by crazy fast!
So I got transferred a few weeks ago and we had our first Zone Training Meeting!

We are very professional.

In other cool news, I got to go to the Jordan River Temple today! That was a great time, very quiet and peaceful way to start the day.

And to be honest, not much else has happened. . . .

. . . Except we had TWENTY FIVE LESSONS IN ONE WEEK! That's a freaking crazy amount of lessons. Like, the standard of excellence is 15 lessons in a week and we almost doubled it. We basically have no time ever to slow down its just lesson to lesson every day. And as fruits of our labor, we have two people who have a baptismal date, and four new investigators! Man, its been just a whirlwind of activity, and that's not counting all the people who are less active who are coming back to church and preparing to go to the temple again!

Also, I don't think I told many people, but I got stung by a wasp for the first time a month ago. It sucks, so don't try it.

Alright, somebody hit me up and email or write me for once (ha ha!)

Love you all!

Midwest Represent!

Transfers were last Tuesday, and I'm now serving with Elder Moore in the Hunter (ha ha) East Stake!

I was really sad because when you're in a small mission you get to know everyone really well! And now we are spread out pretty far, so its going to be a while before we see each other!

So we got all the missionaries who are from the Midwest and we took a picture.

From Left to Right:
Sister Banka (Michigan), Elder Giles (Nebraska), Me! Far back is Elder McCarty (Missouri) Elder DuCharme (Wisconsin) in the grey suite, Elder Pleshek (Wisconsin) and Elder Steiner (Missouri) not featured is Sister Prellwitz who is also from Wisconsin but was not near us when we took the picture :(

Also took one last pic with most of my companions Gillman, Robinson, and Allapitan. The other two are home now.

It will be a while till I see them, but its been fun!

This stake is really exciting, everyone here has a good focus on missionary work! Like, THEY find people here for us to teach, and we don't even have to tract any more! Its crazy, but awesome. I can't wait to see how great the work speeds up.

Love you all!

Forty Two Ties

Forty Two ties. That's how many. Yikes.
Catch you in the next episode of Hoarders.

Most of my packing time has been spent rolling these up and putting them into a shoe box. 😫 I need to start giving some to my companions.

Why am I packing? It's because I'm getting transferred to the exotic Hunter Utah Central Stake! Me and Elder Gilman are getting whitewashed which means that basically that he and I are both been transferred out and two new orders are coming in. It's a little bit frustrating because I've made a lot of friends in this area and the work is finally starting to pick up and I were both being transferred out but change is constatly happening in a mission! Also every time that there is change it brings a new opportunity! So I'm really excited to see how this works.

New companions name is Elder Moore and I haven't met him yet actually! He is from the west or south mission, so I have absolutely no idea how this will be. Hopefully good!

Because today is also the end the month and the end of transfers we can actually spend very much time going grocery shopping and really just kind of hung around at the Jordan Landing with another set of missionaries.

Something that's really really difficult about clothes shopping as a missionary all these wonderful clothes are right in front of you, and you can't afford any of them, and you only really can wear them on one day of the week (Pday). But it's nice to see them and go "Alright, I can't wait to wear these in 15 months"

One the spiritual side of things: I've noticed a lot of people are really struggling as families, not just here but everywhere I've been. And it's made me realize just how important it actually is to have a happy family life, and how much is really aimed at destroying that life.

Have you ever noticed that every single thing that is evil in the world seems to destroy or effect family relationships?

Violence tears them apart physically (whether someone dying in war, accident, crime etc., or a violent situation in home) and things such as drugs, alcohol, pornography, and just basic immorality tear the spiritual and emotional relationship. That trust, that bond. And I think it shows that whether or not you believe in Satan or some other evil figure, something  is tugging at the strings of our family tapestries.

So it goes to show just how important it is to have that strong foundation as a family! because if literally everything bad has an effect on it, that means the opposite can be true! Think of all the good things that are out there, and how they can help the ones we love! Music, good food, nature, love, kind words, service, forgiveness, charity, hope, faith, repentance, ANYTHING good can help us have the kind of bond that makes a family something that's worth spending eternity with! It's so amazing how it's all just there for us, waiting, almost pleading, for us to use it!

That's my observation, anyway.

Email me back, yall! miles.coleman@myldsmail.net

9 Months! Whoop Whoop!

Hey everybody!

Wow, I can't believe it has already been 9 months! It just flies by so fast!

This week has been not the most eventful, but it's been a good one!

From the cool things I've seen, in the last two weeks I have been able to see two gorgeous vintage cars, a 66 Mustang, and a unknown year Chevy Impala!

This week we have done a LOT of door knocking. Which still doesn't really work because e people in this area are really comfortable with where they are at, and you never feel like going to a doctor if nothing's wrong, ya know?

But this Saturday I was involved in the greatest and hardest struggle in my entire life.

Four missionaries in white shirts, slacks and dress shoes, one blacktop soccer field, 20 Hispanic children, one objective: win.

It was a long day of nobody being willing to talk to us, when we come to an apartment complex and see the local kids playing soccer. We had actually just ran into the other missionaries, and we said "Hey, let's see if they want to play against all four of us!" And they did.

So we took our sides, I was chosen to be goalie. I stood by my small makeshift goal of a pile of rocks and a lamppost, ready to crush any children's dream of getting a goal in. Soccer is a game of patience and endurance, and I endured.

Mostly.

While no points were made while I was goalie, a very painful impact was made in areas that no man should have a soccer ball make contact with.

I called to switch spots with someone so I could avoid a repeat incident.

We score Two goals In a  row. With the help of a 9 year old Peruvian boy named Dante (who is really flipping good at soccer!) and they score one against us. I never make a goal, but I'm good at assists and also getting the ball away from my opponents, (because when 260 pounds of missionary runs at you, you WILL panic and lose focus)\

Despite the amazing, we ended up losing because kids are really sneaky fast :(

In other news, we were able to get an inactive family to church! Which was great because they are going through a really tough time and the ward just completely embraced them with love! It was really a heart-touching moment to see people just have so much love for someone they did not even know!

How is life for all of you guys? I don't hear from a lot of people these days, because life is just busy.

Love you all!

CATCH UP POST:

JUNE 16, 2015

What's shakin' people

FIRST THINGS FIRST: Had an AWESOME day at our mission-wide P-day (our day off) activity that lasted ALL DAY all day

That guy I'm next to in the Yellow shirt was my follow-up trainer Elder Allapitan! He's awesome. And the back row was my last Companion Elder Robinson! He's super awesome too.

We had a ton of fun playing sports and other fun outside things! Like tug-of-wars, soccer, water balloon toss, ultimate frisbee, and this fun event called

THE CHUBBY BUNNY.

So the point of the chubby bunny is to have two representatives from each zone to put a marshmallow in their mouth and then say "Chubby Bunny". Then to put in another 'mallow in and saying Chubby bunny again. Without swallowing or spitting up or dying. So we had the first wave of people go up, and last years record was like 17 And that was hit by my mission "grandfather" (My trainer's trainer) Elder Tui'ketei.
So this group of people went up and set a new record of 19! Which was pretty cool.

Then the second wave happened. I was chosen! I felt like I had to as a sort of missionary heritage/tradition. Like that was my family title I had to WIN that thing.

Thirty three. Flippin. Marshmallows. In my mouth. It was disgusting and glorious.

BUT I LOST. By ONE. If I had just waited ten seconds she would have choked and I would have tied. Sister I-don't-rememeber (the one in a blue shirt and a Tonga baseball hat) beat me.

I was devastated and have not eaten a marshmallow flavored thing since.

But it was still an amazing day! Had a wonderful time hanging out with other missionaries and playing games. Which is going to make this mission split terrible :(

So the boundaries have been announced. The Taylorsville zone (Yellow shirts) and me and my companion (and two sister missionaries) are going to go to the Salt Lake West Mission, which goes all the way to the Nevada border. And all the ones in Blue and Red (except me and the other three missionaries) are going to the SLC East mission which goes all the way into Wyoming.

A lot of really cool missionaries are going to that East mission and I'll be sad. But a lot of cool ones are going West with me too, and it's not like I can't email these people. But it'll be sad.

I've got approxamitely 1 and a 1/3 of a mission left. That's weird to think about!  But it's been great and I love hearing about how your lives are going!

Fill my life and inbox with the pointless and mundane things of your life! Love hearing just about little things! miles.coleman@myldsmail.net

But seriously, love you all so much! You mean a lot to me.

Love,

Elder Coleman
CATCH UP POST:

APRIL 28, 2015

We just started teaching a young man named Cameron. He's ten years old. Both his parents are members, but they haven't come to church in a while.

He's really excited to get baptized, so we're happy to help.

Life gets tough out here, not just for us but everyone else around.
But it's funny, it's the smallest things that we can do that have the greatest impact. Simply just praying once in while during the day can go really far in helping days go a little bit better.
There is a scripture that explains it a bit better in Alma 37:6-7 http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng

" 6 Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.

7 And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls."

Simple things, everyone.

http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/37?lang=eng

" 6 Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I
say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought
to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.

7 And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and
eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the
wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls."

Simple things, everyone.

Got some really nice shoes! That's about it. How about you guys? How
is life, your hopes, dreams etc.

Well that's my short week. Some pics attached!

Well, I've been doing a terrible job at updating people on my progress! I'm now currently serving in the exotic location of Midvale Utah East Stake! My Companion is Elder Allapitan, (from the Phillipines) and we're having a wonderful time with zero investigators! :p

But in all seriousness, I really do like this area. While we haven't found anyone to teach (yet!) the members here are nice, and very helpful. Also, it's flat so it's just like home! (Well, except I can't see the sun rise or set on the horizon. Just mountains everywhere.)

We have a lot of people who are already members, but who haven't been to church in years. So we come on by, see how they're doing, and help them regain the testimony that they used to have! It's really cool, watching people start becoming happy again. I've also been able to help some people stop smoking, and that was awesome to watch them kick that habit!

I think the main reason we don't find many people who want to learn more, is because they're in Utah they've seen LDS people everywhere and already met with missionaries before, so they already have an idea of what we're all about. So they tend to shut us down pretty early on before we can even share a little message with them. :/

Oh well, just will mean that when we do find somebody it'll be that much better!

Oh, and I totally had an awesome Christmas! We had a huge mission-wide (all 10 miles of it) conference and everybody got together and we had a talent show, got to see the "Meet the Mormons" movie (Which is really cool! Go see it, now!) and had a little devotional at the end.

Also, snow is very nice for the first few days but now I'm sick of it and it's only January :(

Here's some pictures of what I've been up to and just stuff like that. Feel free to send me an email at miles.coleman@myldsmail.net and say hi!

Alright, until I update something again, hear from y'all later!
